IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — FEBRUARY 4, 2010 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today unveiled one of many additions and improvements in the upcoming first-person melee action adventure Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition™, the enhanced version of one of 2009’s most critically-acclaimed independent releases, coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on March 30, 2010. The “New Attacks” video [LINK] highlights the lengths to which developer ACE Team has gone to build and improve upon their award-winning game, showing off an assortment of bone-crushing new combat moves.

2K announces: Spec Ops the Line

Third person shooter heading to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC some time after November 2010
Take Two label 2K Games has revealed that developer Yager is currently hard at work on third person shooter Spec Ops: The Line for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The game, which takes place amidst the opulent modern structures of Dubai following a devastating, city-submerging sandstorm, is not scheduled for release until Take Two’s fiscal 2011, which kicks off in November next year, meaning a Christmas 2010 release is a possibility.
“At the heart of the 2K DNA is the creation of intellectual properties that provide consumers with compelling narrative, heart-pounding action, and worlds that come to life around them,” 2K president Christoph Hartmann stated.
“Spec Ops: The Line is the epitome of a 2K Games title and incorporates all of our gameplay values: immersive experiences that draw you in, unique and innovative features that make you rethink the way you play them, and an amazingly high quality bar that is synonymous with the 2K name.”
Yager MD Timo Ullman added: “The production of Spec Ops: The Line has been a tremendous experience for YAGER.

We’ve not heard too much about the anticipated live-action adaptation of the Gears of War video game franchise, but way back in February Screen Rant reported that Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) would be directing the Gears of War feature film and co-writing the screenplay alongside Chris Morgan (Wanted, Fast & Furious).

Unfortunately, Wiseman also said he knows little about video games himself – A red flag considering all video game movies tend to fall short in quality because movie studios cannot/do not replicate and/or recognize the important parts of a video game, its story and the experience it generates.

Much more recently, in October we found out that Billy Ray, who wrote State of Play and Breach, is writing the Gears of War script for New Line and that was the last we heard… until now.

Speaking to MakingOf, producer Wyck Godfrey revealed some hints as to what story elements will be the focus of the adaptation and how it may differ from the story of the games significantly, acting as a more of a locust origins movie of the locust and the experience of surviving Emergence Day.
