Blitz 1UP releases Red Chain Games’ butterfly indie delight on PC‏ 02.02.

JANUARY 28, 2010 LEAMINGTON SPA, UK Fluttabyes, a beautiful butterfly-themed downloadable PC title is out now on Boonty, GamersGate, Gamestreamer and Impulse.

Developed by indie studio Red Chain Games and signed to Blitz Arcade’s Blitz 1UP label, Fluttabyes is a fun, quirky take on a Match 3 game. Easy to pick up and play, yet deeply addictive, the aim of Fluttabyes is to help the butterflies fly away by matching four or more of the same colour. The game is gorgeous and cute, with sunny countryside summer settings in a unique and colourful art style.

You can create lines of four, five, six or seven butterflies, a 4×4, L shapes and cross shapes up to 7×7. And the bigger the match, the bigger the bonus! Create 7×7 matches to unlock special ladybird bonuses. You can also create combos by lining up matches that complete after other butterflies have flown away, to amass huge bonuses.

Different modes also vary the game play. With Endless mode, you can play for as long as you like without pressure. In Survival mode, a dandelion clock counts down and if it reaches zero, it’s game over. But you can slow it down by helping the butterflies to fly away.

Chris Swan, Business Development Director for Blitz Arcade, says: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Red Chain on Fluttabyes. The fantastic presentation and unique twist on established gameplay make for a thoroughly compelling experience.”

Adds Dean Baker, MD, Red Chain Games: “We’re delighted to partner with Blitz 1UP. From their early days, the Oliver Twins have designed and developed games we loved, while enjoying huge critical and commercial success. We’re privileged to be able to tap into that experience to make our game as good as it can be. Partnering with Blitz has given our game a huge opportunity to reach the widest audience possible.”
